Even More Graduation Parties

Today there are three graduation parties so I had to whip up some more cards! I love having For the grad on my craft desk this time of year to make personalized cards for these kids!

My first card uses a kraft base with the random dots stencil on the background. I created a tag and distressed with with chocolate ink, stamped with some of the images from the set and the 2019 from Emily’s Cale Toppers set. I wanted a masculine card for Nate, and even though Shen is green, Nate’s favorite color is orange, so I used a hint of orange ribbon with the twill.

Fun idea: use a hint of their favorite color on the card

Next card uses the same background stencil, but I went with green this time to make it look like confetti! I stamped the grad caps All over the background to make it look like they were being tossed in the air! Strip of the same color in card stock with congratulations in black ink! I love this font so much!

Fun idea: customizable cards in school colors are so simple with this set

This last card is also Shen Green! I used a white cap (since that is what the girls wear) and created a focal point with the double circle! Here’s a secret… i stamped it off center so I chopped off a bit of the side of the card to make the circle in the center! Waste not, want not!

Fun idea: use the double circle for a great focal point

Stay tuned for more graduation cards this summer season! this is my graduate this year- Sophie💙💚 is off to high school

Sixty Second Grad Cards, plus envelopes

If you are anything like me, you have amazing intentions and limited time! I am constantly in a battle between making my own creations and not giving myself the right amount of time to create that perfect card! Today is no exception! We have 12 graduation parties in the next month and two this afternoon! I ran down into my craft area to customize some cards for children of friends!

I turned to my Gina K set For The Grad which is so simple to use for these sixty second cards. I used my Misti to place the sentiment and the grad cap exactly where I wanted them in position on the card and even stamping this multiple times to ensure perfect coverage, it still only took a few seconds to create the final product! I added a simple dot to the top of the cap with a line to connect the tassel and I still had time to customize a matching envelope! Throw in a gift card or check and voila, you’re done!

Gina K. Designs Card Kit & Illustrator Blog Hop June 2019 Day 2

The second day of the blog hop features so much stuff you are going to go crazy! I am hoping that by using this card it will warm Upstate New York, which has been freezing lately!

Ocean Minded Card Kit!

Whimsical Wildflower Frame – Hannah Schroepfer
Fun Idea: Use alcohol inks to make an “under the sea” background

This card features the sentiment and the wave stamp from the card kit. I thought it looked like coral on this background! The sentiment is stamped in Gina K. black amalgam ink.

Fun Idea: Create a fun summer background with watercolors

I used some watercolor paints to create a fun background. The base is a sweet corn A2 card. Images stamped in Gina K. black amalgam ink.

Fun Idea: Sing Zac Brown Band’s Toes in the Water while looking at this card!

This super quick card features the footprints and the sentiment, which totally reminds me of a Zac Brown Song (Toes in the water). The Gina K. ink for the footprints is Sandy Beach and the sentiment is Charcoal Brown.

Fun Idea: Try your best to create a watercolor background that looks like a wave

This A2 Sea Glass background has a watercolor main image. The sentiment is from the Ocean Minded Card kit. The sentiment was stamped with Gina K. black amalgam ink.

Fun Idea: Use the Mermaid Scales stencil to create the perfect background for mermaid cards

This card uses the Mermaid Scales stencil with (LCBB) using Ocean Mist, Turquoise Sea and Blue Lagoon. Vicky Mermaid works perfect with this stenciled background! The sentiment from the card kit is stamped in white ink on black card stock. I used a few tear drop gems using connect glue.

Fun Idea: add sequins to create a little bling next to your sentiment

This card features more alcohol ink backgrounds. Hannah’s set had a variety of sentiments which work so well alone with pretty backgrounds. A trifecta of sequins makes the gold leaf on the alcohol ink really pop.

Fun Idea: Frame your sentiment on the top and bottom with the floral images.

This card is an A2 Dusty Rose base with a layer of Gina K. White layering card stock. I stamped the images and colored with copic markers.

Gina K. Designs Card Kit and Illustrator Blog Hop June 2019: Day One

Today is day one of the June 2019 Gina K. Designs Card Kit and Illustrator Blog Hop. There will be so many cards featured over the next two days! Be sure to stop back tomorrow!

Timeless Beauty – Alicia Krupsky
Have Faith – Emily Loggans
Fun Idea: Add some sparkle to the perfume bottle to make it look crystalized!

This card is a 4.25 square, stamped with Gina K. black amalgam ink. I used some copic markers to fill the bottle and added some stickles glitter glue on the bottle to make it appear crystal.

Fun Idea: Use alcohol inks and a gold leaf pen for a one-of-a-kind background.

This card was created with alcohol inks and a gold leaf pen! I paper pieced the lipstick from the Timeless Beauty set and added Sparkle and Shine from the Sunshine Mini Set.

Fun Idea: Mix and match sets to expand your collection to endless possible combinations

I used the Gina K. leafy stencil with some skeleton leaves ink with the butterfly from Elegant Asters with Gina K. black amalgam ink. I used the sentiment from Emily’s set. The butterfly is colored with copics.

Fun idea: use a stencil to create endless background possibilities!

This kraft card base used kraft ink and the stenciled with the Sun Spots stencil using LCBB. The sentiment is from Emily’s new set, using black ink. I used a few strips of black card stock to complete the card.

Fun Idea: Pop up your images with foam squares to make them float off the card

This card uses the Gina K. leafy stencil with Gina K. whisper ink. The sentiment is in black and the Elegant Asters butterfly colored with copic markers.

Fun Idea: Create tons of backgrounds using alcohol inks and metallic pens

This final card uses a background image which I created using alcohol inks and a gold leaf pen! I stamped the sentiment from Emily’s set in the middle of the card and then added some of the background on the top and bottom, framing the sentiment. I added that Elegant Asters  butterfly which I colored with blues and purples (copics).

Stamping Friends Trifecta Blog Hop!

Today is the Stamping Friends Trifecta blog hop with the amazing My Sweet Petunia, Picket Fence Studios and Gina K. Designs. You are going to be amazed at the beautiful creations by all the artists involved in this hop!

Today’s project was created with Picket Fence Studio’s Life Changing Blender Brushes along with the Random Dots stencil. I used Gina K. inks with the medium brush (third from left in photo)

Life Changing Blender Brushes (LCBB) are made of thousands of plastic hairs that pick up but NOT absorb ink. You can blend softly by holding onto the handle, blend medium by holding the head of the brush, or complete coverage by flattening the bristles. Super fun & life changing (to stampers)! These brushes can be used with any water-based ink that doesn’t cause the brush to become stiff. Please don’t ruin them by using them with acrylic paint or Glitz Gel because of glitter.

Brushes can easily be washed with either brush cleaner or mild soap and water if they get super dirty, but you can simply swirl the brushes on a scrap paper to clean between uses. Baby wipes work well too! Let them dry naturally, don’t heat them with a blow dryer or heat tool! That can ruin them too!

Fun Idea: Use glitter, glitter pens or stickles glitter glue to add some sparkle to the center of your flowers!

For the first card, I started by using Gina K. Designs jelly bean green ink with light pressure and then firmer pressure in the middle of the card. On the left I used some asparagus ink to make it even deeper. Love the way the background turned out! I used a scrap piece of Gina K. white card stock and stamped the leaves and flowers from Elegant Asters with Gina K. black amalgam ink. The flowers and leaves were colored with spectrum noir markers, trimmed and then attached with a foam square. I added some glitter to the center of the flowers for a little sparkle!

Using the Misti allows for the precise alignment of the sentiment to the background! I do want to mention a new Misti tool called the Cut Align which a great tool for stampers. It allows for you to cut images without your paper trimmer with precise measurement!

Fun Idea: Use a variety of ink pads with your stencils to create a multi-color ombre background

This second card is super fun! I created it while wearing my favorite t-shirt from Target! Did you need to know that? No! But if you love coffee, you will love this shirt!

My stamping shirt! Super soft (available at Target)

I love coffee and two years ago switched to a french press, so the Good to the Last Drop stencil made me squeal with delight when it arrived in my hands! It made for a perfect background…the colors spoke to me – it looks like a summer sunrise! I got this effect using this variety of yellows and pinks from Gina’s ink collection (Lemon drop, sweet corn, sweet mango along with Passionate Pink and Bubblegum pink). Its very therapeutic to blend with the (LCBB)! I have to admit I am a sloppy stamper. The Misti is a great tool for me. I can’t begin to count the number of cards which I have ruined because of an errant sentiment. Did that ever happen to you? You’re finishing up the card with the sentiment, you don’t stamp hard enough or ink up the image enough and you think, “Oh….I can fix this!” You attempt to line up the image again, but the caffeine jitters take over and “oooofffff” the image looks double stamped! The Misti tool allowed me to go back and re-stamp the sentiment as black and perfect as I want it to be! I stamped the sentiment three times to cover every little imperfection! I finished off the card with a couple of gems from my bauble bucket! What do you think? Leave me some feedback! ❤

Gina K. Designs Card Kit & Illustrator Blog Hop April 2019: Day One

There are so many fabulous goodies I have to show you that I will be brief with my descriptions and just show you all the projects. This is a 2 day blog hop, so be sure to stop by and check out everything tomorrow too!

Melanie’s new set: Puppies Galore is so fun to play with! I have two dogs: Percy & Max who are full of mischief! Percy likes to dig in the yard and Max gets upset when they both get in trouble!

Percy & Max getting into trouble
fun idea: give your pooch some muddy paws like Percy….
Edelweiss & Mindaugas with Karen, November. 97

Todd & I had two dalmatian’s when we first got married. They were great dogs, they just shed a LOT! People loved coming up and petting them!

fun idea: make your mark on the background with the paw print stamp!

There is nothing worse than losing a fur-baby! Unfortunately, I had to make a card for a friend who lost their dog recently. This card uses the paw from Melanie’s set along with the die cut from the new mini set: Hugs and the stamp from the same set.

fun idea: add some dirt to your card with a fine tip marker
Puppies Galore: Available 4/16/19

My newest set: For the Grad was created because I am in that time in my life where either I have someone graduating, moving up or getting ready to make a life changing move and I had no set which really fit the bill for my stamping needs. Last year I had a 5th grader moving up, an 8th grader moving up and a high school graduate. This year my two nieces graduate from high school and Sophie moves up from 8th grade. We are hosting Emmy & Riley’s party so I had to come up with some ideas for table decorations as well! I needed a good stamp set, so I created one! What I love about it is that it coordinates well with my All Star stamp set! There are great sentiments that work for graduations, new jobs, birthdays, even final’s week … and as a bonus: there is confetti! Warning: there are MANY ideas here – be prepared to be overwhelmed! Also, I used green a lot because those are our school colors!

My idea for table decorations for a grad party, made a vintage tag with kraft paper, sponged with dark chocolate ink. Stamped fern image and “Class of 2019” in dark chocolate ink. Choose the grad’s school colors or their favorite color!
Mason Jar candle holder for the party. Sponged tag with “Class of 2019” stamped in dark chocolate ink. White rope tied in a knot around the mason jar, yellow ginham ribbon on tag and jar.
fun idea: add a gem in their school color to the mortar board or stamp the cap in their school colors!
fun idea: let the grad know what you really think using a mixture of the fun sentiments!
fun idea: make the diploma stand out by embossing it! Use school colors for the sentiments!

fun idea: use other stamp sets in your collection to make your grad card even more eye pleasing. Here I used the stars from All star!
fun idea: make a card for a high school senior getting ready to make their final choice…May 1 is the deadline to put down your deposit! Once again, I used All Star to make the card even more fun!

fun idea: use stencils to make clouds in the sky and sprinkle glitter on them to make them shimmer. Here is used the clouds from Nature’s Elements to make the clouds. I stamped the sentiment in a different color to make it stand out!
fun fact: everyone likes confetti except for the people who have to clean it up! Using three stamps and a sentiment, I created this cute card – maybe for a new job, a promotion or someone heading off to the military (try a red/blue color combo on a white card). Add some sparkle gems for extra bling!
fun fact: using the All Star set, the possibilities are endless with a variety of color combinations and the fun sentiments in the For the Grad set! Always add bling for extra special sparkle!

fun idea: Using the numbers from Emily’s Cake Toppers set, I was able to emphasize the year. To give it some extra umph I used a fine tip marker to add dots to the green numbers.
fun idea: create star confetti with the small solid star cluster in All Star to create a cute background using your school colors! The banner is easily trimmed out and can be mounted with dimensional dots.
fun idea: use sequins to make your card sparkle! Adhere easily with Gina K. connect glue for precise placement!

Gosh! That was a LOT of cards and projects! I hope that you liked them. I love to hear your favorite project – so let me know in the comments! Puppies Galore & For The Grad are available now at Gina K. Designs! Also, as with all the amazing blog hops with the Gina K. Design team, we are giving away a $50 gift certificate….simply comment on all the blogs and one winner will be selected (and announced on Gina’s Blog on Friday, April 19).

Here is the blog hop list: Follow along and leave some love!
