Coral flower sympathy card

Mix and match sets for the perfect card

No sooner did I finish the first sympathy card when I got a text that a friend lost her father-in-law quite unexpectedly. This card features an ivory A2 base. The sentiment is from Delicate Damask. The flowers and other elements are from Made with Love . I used slate, lipstick, coral reef and moonlit fog inks. To get the splatter effect I soaked a paintbrush with water and soaked up a bit of lipstick ink from the ink pad. I gently tapped the handle of the brush to splatter it on the base. I recommend doing this before stamping all the images so that if you screw up, you do to have to start all over again!

With Sympathy

Use a stencil with the life changing blender brushes to create a unique background

The hardest cards to create are sympathy cards! A friend’s dad passed away suddenly and I wanted to send her a quick note!

I used a Gina K white A2 card stock base and the Autumn Wishes stencil using lovely lavender and wild lilac inks. I used the “with sympathy” set from Delicate Damask set. I stamped it on black card stock and embossed it with white embossing powder.

thanks for looking!

Reach for the stars

Sophie, Bella, Todd & I on Bella’s senior night

Fun idea: use your school colors for a grad card

Here is a quick card which I made (two of) for Sophie and Bella. This was for me to write an inspirational note for each of them for their upcoming sectionals meet – which is the culmination of their varsity swimming season this year. They’ve been practicing 3+ hours a day, 6 days a week!
I used a Gina K ivory A2 base and stamped the sentiment first in obsidian black ink. This is my new favorite black ink. It makes all others look grey! The stars are stamped in pine and obsidian (black and green are the school colors).

Supplies used: Gina K Ivory card stock, pine and obsidian inks, All Star stamp set

Gina K. Designs Illustrator and Card Kit Blog Hop October 2019: Day 3

Welcome to Day 3 of the Gina K. Designs Illustrator and Card Kit Blog Hop!

The Warm Winter Wishes card kit
Tall Pines
Tall Birch
Seasonal Greetings incentive stamps

This first card features Gina K. Designs Metallic Blush embossing powder on the red velvet card stock. I used the small circles, open circles and the snowflake stamp to create a confetti type design around the Warm Winter Wishes sentiment.

Fun Idea: Heat emboss with metallic embossing powder to add sparkle and shine

Here is another card using Gina K. Designs Metallic Blush embossing powder, but this time on Gina K Designs ivory card base. Love the elegance of this color combination. This one uses a birthday sentiment, which makes this card kit so versatile!

This card uses a navy base and the Tall pines stamp set. I embossed with the Gina K. Designs silver embossing powder and love the look of the silver and blue together. This card also features the Seasonal Greetings Incentive set. This could be yours free with qualifying purchase!

Gina K. Designs Illustrator & Card Kit Blog Hop October 2019: Day 2

Welcome to day two of the Illustrator & Card kit blog hop for October 2019! Today we are featuring the following two stamp sets! These are great sets for getting your mojo flowing!

You being you by Lisa Hetrick (coordinating die available)
You warm my heart by Hannah Drapinski

This card was just me playing around with the stamp set and offsetting it off the card base. It looked like the Earth to me, which totally jived with the one sentiment. I colored the image in with copic markers and used some glitter glue on the edges. I really like the way this card turned out!

Fun Idea: Try turning the one image into the Earth!

This card is actually a chocolate base. The photo colors (no matter how hard I tried) just do not do this color combination justice. It is rich and beautiful! The Gina K. copper embossing powder is just so elegant!

Fun idea: emboss the trees and sentiment for a unique look

Christmas Script by Emily Loggans

The first card uses Christmas Script by Emily Loggans. I watercolored the background and stamped the trees in both sizes. I stamped the star and dot randomly on the card as well. I filled in the star with sakura stardust. The sentiment is from Christmas Script by Emily! Isn’t it elegant?

Fun Idea: Watercolor your background and then stamp your trees

Here is a card with some non traditional colors for the trees, but it sure is Merry & Bright! The sentiment is Seasonal Greetings incentive set for this month. You know you want it! Just add Holiday Trees in your cart (along with some other goodies and this set is yours for free. You don’t even have to tell your significant other.)

This card features a moonlit fog base, stamped with the triangle trees in versamark and embossed with white embossing powder. I colored the trees in with copic markers. The sentiment is stamped on black card stock and embossed with the white embossing powder as well. A few red gems from my stash just bling up the card a notch!

Fun Idea: emboss your trees in white on dark card stock
