Gina K. Designs Card Kit & Illustrator Blog Hop: Day One

Welcome to Day One of the Gina K. Designs Card Kit & Illustrator blog hop! Today I am featuring the new set I designed called Happy Hearts. This set also comes with a coordinating die! The release also features a great new set by Melanie called Embroidered Flowers.

Coordinating Happy Hearts die set

When I envisioned this set, I thought of all the times when the kids were young when I had to make multiple valentine designs for their class lists. I also thought how nice it would be to have this set for anniversaries, weddings or even thinking of you cards! I try to make my sets so versatile and multi-functional! I want you to get the most bang for your buck!

Clean and simple traditional valentine

The triple swirl circle with the micro-heart is so fun. I love to color in the tiny heart with a glitter pen or a marker! I tried to make it large enough for mix and match sentiments, while keeping it petite and delicate!

Embossed background gives texture and depth

This card uses a moonlit fog base. I love the way the red heart pops off the card! I used a stencil and heat embossed the background with white embossing powder! Sentiment is also heat embossed!

Clean and simple card on kraft

I stamped the heart image and colored with copic markers! Such a clean design, but easy to replicate or switch out sentiments!

Clean and simple

The red card stock just pops off the Ocean Breeze. I stamped the die cut hard with obsidian ink and loved the look with a few black micro-hearts.

Clean and simple sympathy card

I used the triple circle and added a few white gel pen dots and colored in the micro-heart. Sentiment from Layered Eucalyptus. Heart stamped on white and colored with copics.

Clean and simple rainbow hearts

These open hearts are easily colored with copics, watercolors or other markers!

So a few little housekeeping items:

You should have come from Melanie’s Blog

You will now continue hopping by going to Arjita’s Blog.

With Sympathy

Use a stencil with the life changing blender brushes to create a unique background

The hardest cards to create are sympathy cards! A friend’s dad passed away suddenly and I wanted to send her a quick note!

I used a Gina K white A2 card stock base and the Autumn Wishes stencil using lovely lavender and wild lilac inks. I used the “with sympathy” set from Delicate Damask set. I stamped it on black card stock and embossed it with white embossing powder.

thanks for looking!

Gina K. Designs Illustrator & Card Kit Blog Hop October 2019: Day 2

Welcome to day two of the Illustrator & Card kit blog hop for October 2019! Today we are featuring the following two stamp sets! These are great sets for getting your mojo flowing!

You being you by Lisa Hetrick (coordinating die available)
You warm my heart by Hannah Drapinski

This card was just me playing around with the stamp set and offsetting it off the card base. It looked like the Earth to me, which totally jived with the one sentiment. I colored the image in with copic markers and used some glitter glue on the edges. I really like the way this card turned out!

Fun Idea: Try turning the one image into the Earth!

This card is actually a chocolate base. The photo colors (no matter how hard I tried) just do not do this color combination justice. It is rich and beautiful! The Gina K. copper embossing powder is just so elegant!

Fun idea: emboss the trees and sentiment for a unique look

Remember to hop and comment on all the blogs to be eligible for a $50 Gift Certificate to Gina K. Designs. What would you buy from this release if you won?

Holiday Trees by Beth Silaika
Holiday Trees Coordinating Die
Pallet Christmas by Melanie Muenchinger
Christmas Script by Emily Loggans

The first card uses Christmas Script by Emily Loggans. I watercolored the background and stamped the trees in both sizes. I stamped the star and dot randomly on the card as well. I filled in the star with sakura stardust. The sentiment is from Christmas Script by Emily! Isn’t it elegant?

Fun Idea: Watercolor your background and then stamp your trees
Close up of the card

Here is a card with some non traditional colors for the trees, but it sure is Merry & Bright! The sentiment is Seasonal Greetings incentive set for this month. You know you want it! Just add Holiday Trees in your cart (along with some other goodies and this set is yours for free. You don’t even have to tell your significant other.)

Fun idea: use some non-traditional colors for the trees
Close up of the card

This card features a moonlit fog base, stamped with the triangle trees in versamark and embossed with white embossing powder. I colored the trees in with copic markers. The sentiment is stamped on black card stock and embossed with the white embossing powder as well. A few red gems from my stash just bling up the card a notch!

Fun Idea: emboss your trees in white on dark card stock

**due to the large volume in this release, I did not get Melanie’s set to make samples. Her set is quite adorable! (add to cart)

Fun Idea: Alcohol inks for a background. This was my alcohol ink background that almost ended up in the trash but I salvaged it with the beautiful Tall Pines stamp set!
Closer look: Check out the deep black ink!
Fun Idea: Use Lisa’s stamp image from You being you as an ornament
A closer look at the trio of trees
