While I am not officially hopping today, I figured I would show you bonus cards which I created using my stamp set Happy Hearts
This clean and simple card features the sentiment from Have Faith and the open heart from Happy Hearts! The heart was colored in with a copic marker to deepen the image. I whipped up this card in less than a minute.
This card uses the bubble heart on kraft paper. The images were then colored in with a variety of pink copics. Super simple card to replicate!

Check back here tomorrow for day 3 of the card kit release – where I will be featuring cards that will inspire you to want the kit!
Welcome to Day One of the Gina K. Designs Card Kit & Illustrator blog hop! Today I am featuring the new set I designed called Happy Hearts. This set also comes with a coordinating die! The release also features a great new set by Melanie called Embroidered Flowers.
When I envisioned this set, I thought of all the times when the kids were young when I had to make multiple valentine designs for their class lists. I also thought how nice it would be to have this set for anniversaries, weddings or even thinking of you cards! I try to make my sets so versatile and multi-functional! I want you to get the most bang for your buck!
The triple swirl circle with the micro-heart is so fun. I love to color in the tiny heart with a glitter pen or a marker! I tried to make it large enough for mix and match sentiments, while keeping it petite and delicate!
This card uses a moonlit fog base. I love the way the red heart pops off the card! I used a stencil and heat embossed the background with white embossing powder! Sentiment is also heat embossed!
I stamped the heart image and colored with copic markers! Such a clean design, but easy to replicate or switch out sentiments!
The red card stock just pops off the Ocean Breeze. I stamped the die cut hard with obsidian ink and loved the look with a few black micro-hearts.
I used the triple circle and added a few white gel pen dots and colored in the micro-heart. Sentiment from Layered Eucalyptus. Heart stamped on white and colored with copics.
These open hearts are easily colored with copics, watercolors or other markers!

I love the sentiments in the Gina K Layered Eucalyptus stamp set. I created this clean and simple card using obsidian ink for the sentiment and a combination of blue lagoon, ocean mist and sea glass. Starting with the lightest ink and the largest stamp, I layered the eucalyptus on the ocean mist A2 card base. I love how it slowly comes to life with the multi step stamping.
This sympathy card features the open triangle trees from Holiday Trees and the sentiment from Have faith. I started with a neutral A2 base and used some watercolor paints on a piece of watercolor card stock. The triangle trees were stamped with obsidian ink.
Clean and simple card that can be especially treasured by the recipient.
No sooner did I finish the first sympathy card when I got a text that a friend lost her father-in-law quite unexpectedly. This card features an ivory A2 base. The sentiment is from Delicate Damask. The flowers and other elements are from Made with Love . I used slate, lipstick, coral reef and moonlit fog inks. To get the splatter effect I soaked a paintbrush with water and soaked up a bit of lipstick ink from the ink pad. I gently tapped the handle of the brush to splatter it on the base. I recommend doing this before stamping all the images so that if you screw up, you do to have to start all over again!
The hardest cards to create are sympathy cards! A friend’s dad passed away suddenly and I wanted to send her a quick note!
I used a Gina K white A2 card stock base and the Autumn Wishes stencil using lovely lavender and wild lilac inks. I used the “with sympathy” set from Delicate Damask set. I stamped it on black card stock and embossed it with white embossing powder.
